got2b® was actually one of the first hair products I ever used in middle school after my sister gifted me a bottle. When the company generously reached out to try their newest barbershop inspired male grooming products I was excited to see how both of our transitions through life came together once again. On my most recent trip to Boston I finally had the opportunity to try them out and before a Friday night in the city nonetheless - the ultimate test you could say.

Friday evening I arrived to the XV Beacon hotel in Boston freshly equipped with their new line: got2b® Phenomenal Thickening Shampoo, got2b® Phenomenal Deep Cleansing Shampoo, and got2b® Phenomenal Texturizing Clay.

Step 1 to this Friday evening experiment was to cleanse. I chose to try out the thickening shampoo.

As someone who naturally has pretty thick hair, I was impressed with its ability to soften while making it fuller and voluminous.

After the cleans it was on to the styling and putting the got2b® Phenomenal Texturing Clay to the test.

When I use any products, especially ones for the first time, I always grab a neutral sized dollop, work it into the palm of my hand so there’s no larger bits, and then work it in evenly to see how it takes shape. I think this is an important step because hair is so unique you need to first see how its adjusting to your individual mane.

After the first test is done, and I know how the product is shaping to my hair I like to go grab a small dollop more and polish off the pieces that I want to control more.

This got2b® Phenomenal Texturing Clay I was really impressed with after the first dosing, it really disciplined my naturally wavy, hard to control hair and that’s something I search for in hair products.

One thing I need to mention is that I typically blow dry my hair to straighten out my natural waves a little bit to give myself more control. But, this got2b® Phenomenal Texturizing Clay, accompanied by the initial got2b® Phenomenal Thickening Shampoo, gave me all the control I needed without needing to blow dry. Another thing I’m conscious about is I like to put effort into how I style my hair, but if a product leaves it untouchable (e.g. too greasy or hard) it’s not worth it to me to rock that style if those are the consequences. I couldn’t be more impressed with this whole got2b® barbershop inspired line giving me the control to style how I wanted and also have a touchable head.

The final step throwing on some leather and hitting one of my favorite cities.

You’ve got2b® you!

If you want to try doing the same at home, which I would highly suggest, you can snag the products for yourself, click here to purchase online.
